africa bike week?

i did not know that...it actually seems more like a huge promo for harley: you can stay at the harley hotel...drive on the renamed-for-africa-bike-week 'detroit way'...visit the harley exhibits and sponsored shows: its all harley, all the time. that isnt a bad thing, mind you: 180,000 riders hanging out together, talking shop and having a good time is not a bad thing!

super hot chicks suck bang and blow

i am almost ready for myrtle beach bike week, which some how lives on despite the town's best efforts to shut er down. we always cruise to the suck bang blow bar for beers, burnouts and etc. this year, the chicks will be hotter than ever: freaky women blowing fire (and tending bar) will be the big draw. note to self: stay out of their line of fire!

back home from daytona after a week o' fun. we saw a lot of great bikes.

here at midget wrestling, i saw more bikes at one bar than I saw total in myrtle.

gettysburg bike week

skies have cleared and its not that hot so i might ride up to gettysburg for a day at their bike week. gettysburg bike week started thursday and ends tomorrow.

laconia bike week

the 87th laconia bike week started saturday the 12th and rolls through june 20th.

bike week is over

yeah...bike week is over so i came home...without a new bike this time. myrtle beach bike week is really done, but it was great to get out of town for a few days and a change of pace is a good thing...probably my last year... we did a lot of riding and added a lot of miles, ate some decent food and generally had a great time. on the way home, big black kept flashing the "check engine" light: i am a little concerned...wondering if it has anything to do with the salt air.

new orleans bike week

Today is the second day of the Second Annual Bike Week in New Orleans: looks pretty wild, but everyone knows how they role in the big easy. The Riverwalk Festival gates open at noon, and starting at 3 p.m., a series of tribute bands –– Dead or Alive (Bon Jovi), Silver Bullet (Bob Seger) and Paradise City (Guns N’ Roses) –– will open for Kyle Turley at 8 p.m. and comedian Gallagher at 10 p.m. yowsa: that is some hyper-lame entertainment, possible fit for the geriatric ward. Other Bike Week festivities will be held concurrently at House of Blues, starting at 6 p.m. with Joe Santana (classmate of my father-in-law) and continuing with several acts until finishing with a 2 a.m. show by Houses of the Holy, a Led Zeppelin tribute band. i dont know...where is the new orleans' sound?

new windshield for the harley

i will be heading for myrtle beach in a couple of weeks for bike week-or bike-couple-of-days i still have a few things to do...today i cleaned out the trailer-even vacumed it-and got rid of a lot of trash that had accumulated over the winter. i tried to put a new, slightly taller windshield on the harley, but i didnt have the right tool.

today i left work early to shop for bikes with my oldest brother who will be going to myrtle beach bike week with the boys this year...

these  bikes from shi jinsong were not on his shopping list.
