The 2007 MotoGP world champion, Stoner left his three toughest rivals behind. Fiat Yamaha rider, Jorge Lorenzo, finished 0,382 second behind Stoner, was on second. Dani Pedrosa from Repsol Honda and Lorenzo's team mate, Valentino Rossi in third and forth place.
The two Spaniards seems to be the biggest challenges for Stoner to meet his mission impossible 2009 MotoGP runner-up goal. It will be quite a challenge for the Australian. He must win the last 2009 MotoGP race to reach the goal while Lorenzo gaining no point.
